In short

Lidark collects no personal data. No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. The app talks to no server run by the developer: your surveys never leave your iPhone unless you share them yourself.

What Lidark uses on your device

  • Camera and LiDAR: ARKit uses them to measure the gallery and place the iPhone on the plan. No photo or video is saved to your photo library. The survey keeps the computed 3D mesh, ARKit’s world map (feature points) and a small thumbnail of the starting view used as a relocalization aid; all of it stays on the device.
  • Motion sensors: used to estimate your movement, always on the device.
  • Torch: switched on at your request or automatically in the dark, so visual tracking works.

Where your surveys are

Surveys (path, mesh, landmarks, relocalization thumbnail) are stored locally on the device, in the app’s database (SwiftData). They are never sent anywhere else. Deleting the app or a survey erases them. If you use your device’s backups, they may include this data; that is up to Apple and your settings, not us.

Exports

A PLY or OBJ file is only created when you start an export, and it only goes to the app or contact you pick in the iOS share sheet.

Purchases

The purchase of Lidark Pro is processed by Apple (App Store). The developer receives no payment method, name or address: Apple only provides aggregated sales statistics. The app checks your purchase with Apple through StoreKit, nothing else.

This website

The lidark.app website is static: no cookies, no trackers, no analytics. Like any host, Cloudflare, which serves it, may process technical logs (IP address, request) to operate and secure the service.

3D viewer

The viewer (the /en/viewer/ page) opens your Lidark exports (PLY, OBJ, PNG, PDF) only in your browser: the file is read and displayed locally, and is never uploaded, stored or analysed by a server. It makes no network call beyond loading the page and, if you ask for it, the small sample file.

Children

Lidark collects no data, including from children.

Your rights and contact

Since the developer holds no data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or erase on our side: your data is on your device, under your control. Any question: [email protected]. Publisher: KConsulting, France.
